Owner lookup

Key: syncing...

County records

Owner names, absentee flags and homestead from the county appraisal rolls (Montgomery, Harris, Fort Bend), matched to each pin by its rooftop coordinate. Fresh closings often still show the seller on the county file; the app hides any name it cannot verify against the closing date.
Nightly county pull

Data feeds

Redfin reads the MLS directly, so it carries new-construction and day-old closings that the realtor.com feed misses. When Redfin is primary, realtor.com stays on as a photo and enrichment source and still discovers anything Redfin lacks. Homes are matched across feeds by address, so your logged doors stay attached.

Realtor connection

Source: realtor.com frontdoor GraphQL. If pulls start failing with 403s, refresh these to match a current browser and realtor.com build, then Save. No deploy needed.

Changelog

v29.3 Call-back squares hold their ground everywhere. A sale logged in a dead zone now retires the square right away instead of after the signal returns; a square marked or cleared moments before a background refresh can no longer be undone by it; a duplicate door folded by admin keeps its call-back; and the no-car button got the same live-data guard the other buttons got last release.

v29.2 The real fix for the stuck call-back square. If a door card sat open while you took a long call, the app quietly swapped the underlying data out from under it, so logging the sale updated a copy: the dot turned gold but the square stayed put no matter how many times you tapped. Card buttons now always act on the live door. Selling, not interested, and do-not-knock retire a square instantly, every time; no answer deliberately leaves it up because that call-back is still owed, and undoing a status no longer wipes the mark. Also fixed: a folded duplicate no longer loses its call-back, and a queued mark can no longer re-flag a door you already closed.

v29 Under-contract triangles get their moment. A new triangle button in the map corner hides everything except under-contract doors, at every contract age, so you can sweep the pending universe in one look. And a new option in the filter tray colors the triangles by how long each has been under contract, using the same bright-to-cool ramp the sold dots use: a fresh contract burns yellow and an aging one cools off, so the ones about to become move-ins stand out at a glance. Both are toggles; leave them off and the map looks exactly like yesterday. Behind the scenes, error emails got smarter: a hiccup that the app will retry on its own no longer emails at all, only problems that survived their retries do, and routine notices now wait for a civilized morning hour instead of arriving overnight. Serious data alarms still go out immediately.

v28 Call-back squares. Tap the new Call back button on any door card and that house becomes a big amber square on the map, bigger and brighter than every dot, visible at any zoom, so the end-of-night sweep for where to return is one glance. Logging the next outcome at that door retires the square automatically, and the Today card counts your waiting call-backs with a one-tap zoom to all of them. Also in this release: phones now get the larger touch-sized dots they were always meant to have (a longtime sizing bug), deleting a dropped pin that has logged work now asks before destroying that history, resetting all knock statuses keeps a recovery backup first, and a stack of behind-the-scenes reliability fixes to the county deed watchers and alerting.

v27.1 Smarter duplicate handling on zip border streets. When two listing feeds describe the same rooftop but disagree on the zip code, which happens along the Brookshire and Fulshear border and a few other seams, the board now folds them into one door automatically instead of waiting for a manual review. Doors with units, ranged addresses, or any real distance between them still get a human decision, and a door with knocking history is never folded away.

v27 New territory east. The board now covers Chambers and Liberty counties: Mont Belvieu, Anahuac, Dayton, and everything around them. Sold and pending listings flow in from both counties, and the Today card offers a one-tap look at the new ground the first time it appears. Many Mont Belvieu homes carry Baytown mailing addresses, so do not be surprised by the city names out there. Chambers County court records are in the deed watch too, so brand new owners out east show up as off-market finds the same way they do in Harris and Montgomery. Also in this release: navigation no longer guesses a city when a record has none (a missing city used to route toward Spring no matter where the door was), and the county deed watcher now recognizes when a records site has put up a bot wall and says so plainly instead of retrying all night.

v26.1 Steadier hours, cleaner board. The better-hours signal now speaks only when the difference is real: an hour within noise of your average earns no route boost and no claim on the Today card, so the advice cannot flip back and forth on a single door. Switching reps in Settings now resets the numbers immediately instead of steering on the previous rep's history, and 8pm no longer gets the old automatic evening boost the learned hours replaced. Behind the scenes: the last confirmed duplicate doors were folded, a stray out-of-state batch of 93 was removed, and deed records that pointed at merged-away doors were repaired.

v26 Routes now know your hours. The route builder used to assume evenings were the good time to knock, the same guess for everybody. It now reads your own logged hours instead: the blocks where doors actually answer for you get the push, and the ones that do not, do not. On this board that moved the early afternoon up, where doors answer as often as the best evening hour, and eased off the late evening, which is the weakest stretch of the day. The Today card also tells you straight out whether right now is one of your better hours. Reps without enough history yet keep the old behavior until their own pattern is clear.

v25.3 Duplicate cleanup and safer switches. A feed setting got flipped by accident, which quietly stopped one of the two listing sources and made the map re-add thousands of homes it already had, so some streets showed the same house twice. Every one of those twins has been folded back into a single door with all knocks, notes and no-car marks kept, and the setting that caused it can no longer be flipped without a dialog explaining exactly what it does. The other feed switches now ask the same way, Settings keeps a running list of admin changes, and a door you have only marked no car on can no longer age off the board.

v25 The app learned your numbers. Every knock, talk and sale you log builds your own running averages, and a new Your Numbers panel shows them: how many talks a sale takes you, which hours of the day actually answer the door, and a live countdown on the Today card that says about how many more doors you need right now. The doors figure moves with the clock, because a 5pm knock and a 1pm knock are not worth the same. It is honest when the sample is small and sharpens as you log. Also new: a No car home button on the card and one tap in route mode. It never touches the door's status; it just remembers each day and time you passed an empty driveway, shows the pattern on the card, quietly fades that door on the map during its usual empty hours, and lets routes steer around it until a time someone might be home. One tap to undo if you fat-finger it. 25.1: doors you marked no car now wear a small car chip on the map, so you can spot them at a glance while you plan a street; the chip brightens during the hours that driveway is usually empty.

v24 Montgomery County deeds are live, and it is the big one. Montgomery covers a huge share of the map, and until now its quiet sales, the cash buyers, builder handoffs and for-sale-by-owners, never showed at all. Now every recorded warranty deed there becomes a door the same way Harris and Galveston already do: a brand-new owner wearing the OFF-MARKET badge, or the recorded buyer's name on a home already on the board. Montgomery's records read differently from the other counties, so each deed is matched to its exact home by lot, block and section against the county's own parcel map, and anything still ambiguous waits for a closer look instead of guessing. All three counties now run side by side every day.

v23 Drop your own pins. Long-press anywhere on the map (or right-click on a computer) to add a door the feeds miss: a for-sale sign, a referral, a spot to come back to. It works like any other door, so you can knock it, star it, route to it, and jot a note; open its card to edit the address, move it, or remove it. The map dots are also about half the size now, and Settings has two sliders to size them exactly how you like, zoomed out and zoomed in.

v22 Off-market deed finds now look like it. A brand-new owner from a county deed shows a dashed ring on the map instead of blending in with sold listings, a fresh-deeds count sits in the stat rail and taps straight to them, the filter tray has an off-market-only lens, the list and CSV tag them, and route building fights to get to them first. The +Knock button in the list is now a vertical spine to match the card.

v21.4 Galveston deeds now become doors on the map, not just records in the background. Each recorded sale is matched to its home by street address, so a Galveston closing shows up the same way a Harris one does: an OFF-MARKET door for a brand new owner no listing site has, or the recorded buyer's name added to a home already on the board. Deeds without a street address on file, like some condos and brand new sections, wait until the county attaches one.

v21.3 The Galveston records site turned out to sleep through the overnight window, so its deed pull moved to its own late morning run with a second try two hours later. The overnight window now belongs to Harris alone, and a county site that is down gets recognized in seconds instead of stalling the whole night's matching. Nothing is missed either way; every pull re-reads the last ten days. About county deeds. Some homes change hands without ever being listed: cash buyers, builder closings, family purchases, owners selling on their own. The courthouse still records every one of those sales, so KNOCK reads new deed filings from Harris and Galveston County every day and matches each one to its exact home on the map. On the board a matched deed shows up three ways: doors wearing the OFF-MARKET badge are brand new owners no listing site knows about, the name on the card comes straight from the recorded deed, and an under-contract triangle becomes a confirmed move-in the moment its deed records. New owners are the best doors on any street, and these are the ones nobody else is knocking.

v21.2 Galveston County deeds are live. The overnight run now reads Galveston warranty deeds straight from the county records site, including sales recorded the same day. Fresh filings sometimes arrive before the county finishes indexing them; those fill in their names and lot details automatically on a later pass. Harris and Galveston now run side by side, with Montgomery still queued behind its own gate.

v21.1 Housekeeping on the deed feed before it earns more counties. The overnight parcel matcher now reports its own health like every other pipeline, saves its work as it goes instead of all at the end, and a county website having a bad night gets retried the same night instead of counting as finished. Two deed jobs can no longer run on top of each other. Family and company re-titles are told apart from real sales more carefully, so fewer genuine move-ins get filtered out, and doubtful parcel matches now wait for review instead of guessing. Buyer names on cards are never kept in any cache, and the Monday digest credits the deed feed for the closings it settled, not just the doors it found.

v21 The county sees every sale, even the quiet ones: KNOCK now reads Harris County warranty deeds nightly and matches each one to its exact parcel on the appraisal map. Cash sales, builder handoffs and for-sale-by-owners that never touch a listing become knockable doors within days of closing, wearing an OFF-MARKET badge and the recorded buyer's name on the card. A recorded deed also settles any under-contract triangle it matches, since the courthouse outranks the estimate. Every match was checked against an independent federal geocoder before the first door shipped; the ones the county maps have not caught up with yet simply wait their turn. Galveston and Montgomery counties are queued behind their own gates.

v20 The map looks ahead: homes under contract show as white triangles, weeks before anyone moves in. Pull the age slider below zero to see what's closing soon & knock week one. They turn into normal dots when the sale lands. Weather now tips you off too: swarm season, mosquito surges & cold-snap rodents show as a chip up top. 20.1: cards show flood-zone & wet-soil notes where the county has them, + one-tap links to open a home on Redfin or Realtor. Under-contract homes that close quietly (no Redfin sold) now become normal dots instead of stuck triangles, & a few pending-home counting quirks got tidied up.

v19 The map turns: follow yourself & it faces your walk, two fingers spin it, the compass sets it straight, routes face the next stop. Toggle in Settings. 19.1: direction fixed + silky spin, opens north, red 2-tap Do not knock, $/sqft in facts, resizable card w/ pinned X, photo pinch-zoom, tiles kept for dead zones, all outside map libs replaced w/ ours.

v18 A second set of eyes on the market: Redfin now leads the sold feed, reading the MLS directly and catching the new-construction and day-old closings the old source missed. Day one brought 3,432 doors the map had never seen. Feeds are matched house-by-house so your logged doors never come unstuck, duplicates got swept up, and a safety copy was tucked away before the switch was thrown. New on cards: the NEW BUILD badge. 18.1: house facts right on the card (HOA, lot, stories, MLS number), the flagged address pairs can now be reviewed and settled in Settings, and the big red switches ask twice everywhere, including of robots.

v17 Dots shrink and grow with the zoom instead of hiding in bubbles, and Settings lets you tune how eagerly they bunch. Sold doors wear a gold star on every surface, so the Knock list traded its star for a +Knock button. The satellite option now admits how old its pictures are. The weather learned about tomorrow. And a live dot walks the map with you. 17.2: the county health notes now speak English, and they forgive: a recovered feed no longer wears last week’s error.

v16 The app now keeps a ready-made copy of itself in a global vault, so the first tap of the morning is quick even when the network is grumpy. We also built a clever new way to redraw the dots, timed it, found it was slower than the boring old way, and returned it to the store. Receipt kept.

v15 A quiet one: the single 3,500-line file became ten tidy ones, and the map stopped recomputing all 46,000 doors half a dozen times per tap. Nothing moved on screen, which is the entire point. 15.1: panning while you walk got about 47% smoother.

v14 The app now knows who showed up: presence in Settings and the Monday digest, plus persisted request logs. 14.1: route end points, photo thumbnails in the list, a June 2025 satellite layer, land listings on request, email test buttons, and five timestamp comparisons that argued about midnight, now settled.

v13 Stars are kept forever. Lasso an area to filter to it. Saved views follow you across devices. Select doors, pour them into a route. Nightly backups to R2 with 30-day immutability and a weekly email copy. Two independent security audits, zero criticals. 13.1 to 13.3: audit fixes, offline app shell, backups hardened.

v12 Real photos of the houses on cards, at no cost. Offline knock queue: a dead zone can no longer lose a logged door. Monday owner digest. Routes v2: build, name, save, then run stop by stop with the glideable scrubber. List totals, multi-select, CSV export, saved views. The top bar finally went transparent; turns out the map had been stopping short of it the entire time.

v11 The field kit: starred Knock list, calendar handoff with a deep link back to the exact door, street view, price and pool chips on pins, Cmd+K search, weather in the corner, per-user note chips. The wordmark went vertical and has never been happier.

v10 Route brain: due doors get guaranteed seats and scoring learns from enrichment. Knock saves ride their own fast lane. Per-person links with instant revocation.

v9 Per-door activity history and a 180-day horizon. The app remembers so nobody else has to.

v8 County appraisal enrichment: owners, occupancy, pools, year built, homestead. Weekly bulk facts, entirely self-tending, with pool and owner filter lenses to match.

v7 Attempt tracking with automatic door resting, do-not-knock status, offline data cache, team identities, and a celebration when a door sells. Yes, the confetti is deliberate.

v6 The self-audit fix pack: worked doors never age out of the board, search got honest about its scope, activity counters became tappable drill-ins.

v5 The Today briefing and the revisit loop: no-answers come back to life at the right moment. Settings moved into the app.

v4 Full metro coverage, the first route builder, revisit rings on pins, the price filter.

v3 Mobile-first redesign, the iris look, autosaving notes, and the two-sided move-in age window.

v2 Live sold-listing ingestion and an admin panel that changes settings without a redeploy.

v1 A map of fresh move-ins where tapping a door logs the knock. Humble beginnings.
